(Not sure if anyone saw this post so I am going to sticky it for a day or so and make sure it gets seen.)
Ok Guys, here is the preliminary I have come up with.
Feel free to check my work and if you find I am wrong, let me know. 🙂
FINAL SCORE:
Green Bay Packers = 31
Pittsburgh Steelers = 25
Combined Total = 56
The two guys that had their scores also = 56 are:
A Harris (within 7 of the actual winning teams score)
(GBP-38)
(PBS-18)
Nate (within 6 of the actual winning teams score)
(GBP-25)
(PBS-31)
Good job you two!!!
We also had two guys guess the winning teams score exactly right!
Joe 51 and RAGOODWIN both correctly guessed Green Bay Packers with a 31 winning score.
Good job you two, too!!!
So...from what I have so far, it looks as if Nate is our big winner. If everyone is OK with this or anyone has a problem with this feel free to reply.
Also, being that I like to give out smaller prizes, I feel that the other three guys deserve a little something for their guesses. A Harris deserves something because he has the total right on the money. As for Joe51 an RAGOODWIN, It's hard to nail the winning teams score right on and the fact that they guessed Green Bays score EXACTLY as it wound up being is pretty damn cool and is also deserving of a little "goodie"!! :good:
I'll get back with all of you later to announce the confirmation. 🙂
Thanks again for participating and be on the lookout for our next upcoming contest. We may surprise you... 😉

2011 Super Bowl Pool - FINAL RESULTS - I think Nate Wins!!
Am I wrong to think that the winner would be determined by the person who picked the correct team followed by the closest margin of score?
2011 Super Bowl Pool
No offense, but I'm with Blake.
If you didn't pick the winner, your score is wrong in every way possible.
After that come the tie breakers.
2011 Super Bowl Pool
Don't get me wrong, I agree with the pick the winner and closest margin argument, but I would suggest you go back to the original post and read the rules, again.
😉
Cheers,
Dugger
In Retrospect........
"Scoring: Your two score guesses will be added together for a combined total, then compared with the combined total of the actual scores at the end of the Super Bowl game. The person whose combined score is closest to the actual combined score wins! In the case of a tie, the person with the closest score guess of the winning team wins. If there is still a tie, a random drawing will be conducted."
The contest does not mention having to initially pick the winner, so I guess the results as stated above should stand.
I guess Lombardi was wrong...........;-)
2011 Super Bowl Pool - FINAL RESULTS - I think Nate Wins!!
Well, I can't go back and change the rules for this particular contest now, so we have to go with the original post announcing the contest. That would be like creating new standards for surveys, you have a plat recorded, then we change the standards and make you revise your recorded plat to the new standards.
To make good, we'll be sure to send both Nate and Mr. Harris really awesome prizes as we cut our teeth on this one.
Keep in mind this is our first real contest, so we are still in learning mode. The point(s) you made are well received and we will attempt to improve future contests based on your feedback.

2011 Super Bowl Pool
Actually, most pools work this way....the winner is irrelevant, rather it's the amount of points scored in each quarter and such.
Congrats to those who won a prize!
Do I get third place!!
I guessed gb 35
Pitt 28

I agree. I think they both deserve a grand prize!!:gift: 😀  :gift:
OK, guys, here's what I need from you four fine surveyors... Addresses!!
Nate and A Harris, I'll respond back with my little questionnaire that I sent to Phillip. This way I can customize your "prizes". 😉
Please send to:
noodles at harntech dot com.
Thanks!!
 Angel
Angel, whatever you folks decide is fine. I can see I was upside down in my guess, that is I had the wrong team on top.
You have my permission to go with (the right side up) guess, if you want. I can see that.
Nate
Talk about a close guess, Nate. Had you reversed that and bet in some big time sports polls you'd of probably clobbered everyone!! :hi5:
You're still a winner here, at Beerleg. 🙂
Please send me your address so I can discuss it with you further.
You too, A Harris!!
Thanks, guys! 😀

Wendell,
Just out of curiosity.....
Why in hell are these whining crybabies’s (no offense meant to anyone) disputing your decision?????
Jumping Jesus, it’s not as though there was a million dollars at stake.
Keep up the great work!:-)
I am happy to participate with everyone on this forum and enjoy knowing that whatever the end results are, they are in capable hands.
The only downside of all of this is that the wait for the next football game is a very long one.
In Retrospect........
Sorry, I didn't read the rules. :-O I just asked a question. I didn't mean to get anything started.

Eh..it's OK. No harm taken. I've done the very same thing myself a time or two. 🙂
Wait A Second, I Demand A Prize
I did not enter the contest, therefore I have no wrong guesses.
Therefore I conclude that my non-answers are more correct than everyone else's incorrect answers.
To be politically correct this is in the same vein as giving tax refunds to those who did not work and therefore had no income.
BTW, since I now make the above political comparison this whole thread now belongs in P&R.

Wait A Second, I Demand A Prize
😛 Ok, Paw Paw... what do you want from me? Candy? Coffee? Robot?? 😉
Robot Is Nice but I'm Afraid To Ask For R2-D2 From Star Wars
because I might get Joan Rivers from Space Balls.
