Hey guys,

Been a longtime reader of this forum and finally decided its time to join. My name is Nate and I am a Senior in the University of Maine's Surveying Engineering Tech program. I have worked on and off in surveying since I was 14 with my dad (a PLS for 30 years). I am currently working for him as I prepare to take?ÿmy FS exam. Our work consists of mainly residential Boundary Surveys, Mortgage Loan Inspections, and LOMA/EC's.

I have enjoyed reading the stories concerning all types of surveying?ÿon this forum and hope to learn from all you guys who have been in the field for years.

Nate

Hello Nate,

How are things at Orono these days??ÿ I went through the Surveying Engineering program back in the early eightys (graduated in '83) and spent two years living on the west side of Pushaw Lake.

Welcome to this site. Lots of interesting folks here.

Hello Nate, welcome to the site. Same here, long time reader & first time posting.?ÿ I also graduated from Umaine in 2006, great program. Ray, Knud, & Carlton do a great job. I used to work for Down to Earth Land Services in Bradley Maine while going to school. I sure don't miss those cold temps and high winds up there in the winter. Good luck with FS exam Nate.?ÿ ??ÿ

Thank you for the welcome guys. Figured I might find a few UMO Grads on here. Things in Orono are great. Ray, Knud(phasing into retirement unfortunately), and Carlton are keeping us on our toes still.

@stiets thank you! and I have dealt with?ÿDown to Earth?ÿa few times regarding projects we work on. The weather is always interesting to say the least. How do you like working in CT?
