Sorry to hear that, Dane -- that's a lot of stuff to lose. Was it all insured?

That's a tough loss, it seems like whoever was behind it had to understand the 5600. It's basically useless without all the other stuff.
Sorry to hear that.

Wouldn't it have just been easier to steal the entire truck?! Sounds like they got pretty much everything else. :-/

Sorry about the loss, that sucks!

Dane,
sorry to hear of your loss - seems far too common these days that survey equipment is being stolen. like others said, I hope your insurance helps cover replacement costs. one thing insurance can never replace - your faith in people to respect others stuff. bastard thiefs.
from our experience with items stolen from locked truck beds, it was covered. the key thing was to have an approved locking truck bed cover that satisfies your insurance requirements. good luck, and keep us posted how it all works out.

silver shield

The truck was parked in our garage that requires an electronic fob to open the gates and/or doors. There is camera coverage of all garage access points. I have a silver shield on the back of the truck. It was locked the last time I checked leaving the job site.

Dane, from that it sounds like an employee, or an ex employee.
Somebody that knew.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune - best advice I can give is to notify local pawn shops with the S/N of the instrument and any other equipment and most importantly, notify Trimble with the S/N of the stolen equipment.

Had some equipment stolen back in 2009 and reported it to Leica...it turned up this yr and we're in the process of getting it back. I'll post more details when we have it in hand. Bottom line - if someone buys it off of eBay (our case) or Craigslist, and it comes up needing repairs, if they find a Trimble dealer or repair shop, more than likely, Trimble will run the serial # and if it's been reported, it will show up flagged in their system...
