Hello everyone,
I sent my BLK360 G2 (still under warranty) for repair.
Finally, after more than two months (!), I was informed that the instrument had sustained a bump/damage in the recess that locks the laser scanner onto the tripod (I'm attaching a photo Leica sent me), and therefore I would have to pay for the repair.
I have treated the laser scanner with extreme care and attention, and there have never been any bumps, falls, or scrapes.
I also pointed out that, if I had caused similar damage to the instrument in that area, I would have inevitably damaged the most exposed surface as well, with external marks, again quite evident.
Or, you have to imagine someone deliberately scraping the inside...
Personally, I can imagine that perhaps the laser scanner had a problem rotating on the vertical axis, causing it to rub against the pin that holds it to the tripod. This, over time, caused the damage visible in the photo, resulting in its malfunction.
Has anyone else experienced a similar problem (I hope not...)?
Thanks for your attention...
DEMIAN
Hi, can I ask what kind of problem it was having? It wouldn't turn on? I dropped my BLK360 SE from 70-80 cm to the ground and it won't turn on anymore. Leica is asking me almost 700 euros just for the diagnosis.
