If you don't know about the Surverors Historical Society, check them out. They put out a little newsletter with history and sometimes ads for antiques. The annual rendezvous is a 3-day affair with lectures and tours and maybe a swap meet, this fall near Toledo, Ohio.

Welcome.?ÿ If you are interested in learning more about antique instruments I would check out the Compleat Surveyor website

The website has all kinds of information on the history of surveying and surveying instruments (primarily in the US.)?ÿ It is really cool if you like that kind of stuff.

As I age, (I'm just a young pup according to some!) I like the antiques more.

Any particular items of interest that you want for your collection?

I want a lietz transit and tripod, from San Francisco, 1920's vintage.

It's what dad had. My brother asked for it. I gave it to him. So, I want one. There's one on eBay for some 650, I will wait.

Their value is sentimental, not functional.

Nate
