Welcome. I've done a great deal of BS surveying in my day. Typically giving it away because it really isn't the client's fault some idiot blew through from Timbuktu and started stringing goat stakes in weird places. A simple job turns into a nightmare. Client will usually end up in a dispute with some neighbor sooner or later because of bad behavior on the idiot's part.

Well I 'member back circa '96ish in podunk Ionia Co, MI I had to set a corner back in the woods. Opps, those ground hornets did not like me. In fact they hated me and tried to kill me.

I took my 1/2" rebar (no cap, sorry), lath stating "CORNER", and almost got a ringer with my toss from about 50 ft away. No doubt the owner put it where he wanted it, at some point during the winter when those bashtards were sleeping. How does one spell "pin cushion"?

I like horse shoes. I don't like ground hornets. You can drink beer with the former, and expel said beer after bodily processing upon the later.... if so inclined.

Welcome BS. That's what most of us do anyways, so keep it coming. Oh and BTW, I just got off the phone with my brother who lives in Charleston, SC. Always a good chat, just like us 'leggers try to be.
