Hello, I am a longtime lurker on the forums, happy to now be a member. My deepest thanks to the community and moderators for this valuable resource.
I have been surveying since 2006 as this was a second career for me. I have a BAS Degree from Great Basin College in Nevada and was licensed in 2018 in Alaska.
Just moved from the private sector to an indoor government job after many years of grinding it out in the field across Alaska.

Hello-
I have just started in a new position so my daily tasks are evolving, so I will try to explain as best I can.
I am a land use adjudicator and my role is to evaluate applications for easements over state owned land, and then issue documents that guide the process.
Because of my background as a surveyor I have been asked to apply my skillset to process improvement in several areas, chiefly in creating a more robust methodology for writing land descriptions. As well as other survey related tasks.
My previous position was that of project surveyor, in the private sector.

Welcome aboard Frank. I think I have a pretty good idea where you're hanging out your shingle. @james-vianna Oh it's still 4th Avenue. Funny I was not here but a co-worker was telling tales of "wild west" Alaska in the early 80s. It is still very much a frontier, just in different ways.
