I have browsing this forum for a long time, but this is the first time I registered.
I have been licensed as a surveyor for 25 years and an engineer for 20. After a stint with the BLM while I was in college, I spent 25 years in private work, 20 with my own firm. But change is always good so I sold my stuff and took a job with the Field Operation Branch of the National Geodetic Survey, and have been there ever since. The change from the a career on the boundary law side of surveying to the science side has been refreshing. We get to go to interesting places all over the US and the territories, and of course meet a lot of interesting people.
The biggest change was the fact that I do not use AutoCad anymore. All of the maps we generate (primarily for campaigns) are ESRI AGOL maps. I never thought I would get so proficient in GIS.
Anyway, I hope I can contribute.?ÿ
