Hey,
I am a carpenter out of Toronto and i am here to learn and discuss construction layout tips and techniques, there are not many books that actually adress construction layout.
The total station i use is a Hilti POS 18

Looking forward to participating in threads..

Welcome! Glad to have you! Also glad you didn't have to endure our horribly outdated old forum. 😉

Welcome. You should find plenty of experienced construction surveyors willing to chat with you. Start a thread or two in the next few days, once everybody gets back on board, and you should be off to a great start.

Just remember you cannot place a 100' x 40' house, on a lot that is 80' x 30'!! (Contrary to what architects say!)
Welcome to the forum. Mostly Land surveyors here. Opinionated ones! 🙂

always do your checks, my crew says I check check and double check, they get sick of it.

also use the measuring tape to check some horizontal measurements just to check

I dont layout a long straight road by radial staking, creates a crooked string line, curb very expensive. Experience and butt chewing taught me this one day
