I just got use to the old site and renewing old acquaintances then I show up again and everything changes. Out with the old, in with the new. I'm glad to be here again. Big E still around?
Yup, he's still hangin' out here from time to time. Somewhere near Atlanta playing with toy trains last I heard.
Not many people can spell Chautauqua, let alone pronounce it. Welcome back.

Roger that partner! Wendell has me on as a moderator now so I am here every day. I may not post but I'm around all the time now.
And, as Mr. Cow points out I'm back into model railroading.
Haven't had any work at all since late November or early December. Trains are LOTS more expensive than they were back in my paper-route days some 40 years ago. My IRA sure doesn't like it.
If you kept the number from the last time I called, it's still good. I know that has been a solid year ago at least.
Drop me a line or give a call anytime.
E.

Oh my...I'm underdressed! 😉
My wife and I with some friends (Yes, I have friends) are going to the Chautauqua Institute in August to listen to the Beach Boys perform. They will be rocking the old Amphitheater.

'bout damn time! 😉
Having recently turned 65 yo, I retired from the County in 2006. I saw the the age of surveying go from the old theodolite and veneer reading with a magnifier and writing everything in field books to the total station with data collector. We still needed 2 people but I also needed some one around to keep me thinking straight. I was fortunate when I retired to get another job as a construction inspector/tester. I absolutely loved the job, but I ended up blowing out my back and get a junk yard for a spine. I have made some wonderful internet friends here and went to NC to see Big E in 2006 after my divorce. I have since remarried to a wonderful hardworking woman and I am enjoying life.

You were still married when you came to visit us. I think that happened 6 or so months later.
After you left our place you all were heading back northwards and going to visit Mike Strange. Wasn't he "Mr. Geodist" on the old POB? I don't recall if your daughter had started college down in those parts yet or not. If so, she had to be have been in her early years. Didn't you tell me she now has her PhD?
Great to have you back by the way!!!!
E.
Wait.... you sure that was 2006? If so, me and Donna also broke up that same year.
Same year I lost that house you came to.
I moved down here in June of 2007.

Really? So I was alone? I could have sworn she was there.
I must be thinking of someone else then.
Anyone else catch the segment on CBS Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood yesterday featuring Chautauqua, NY and the whole Chautauqua popularity story.
