Richard

I am glad to see you on the board :hi5:

BTW...Any chance you can get me booked on a flight to Tahiti next week? While you are at it, how about a beach front house and a few young maidens for cooking, cleaning and rubbing my feet?

RADU, it was not meant as an offense

You have decided to be Kristi's spokesperson here. You are selling her reasoning to these guys. Don't like the way that looks, then just suggest Kristi come over here and explain it herself. That simple. If you are "passing along" her excuses, then you are her salesperson. IMNSHO.

What I do find interesting is that you say

you present evidence. The evidence that you presented was Ms. Grahl claiming the speed was an issue transferring data. But then you went on to say that the speed has always been a negative. So tell me, are you calling her a liar or are you incorrect about the speed always being a negative? Gotta be one or the other. If you were correct about the speed, why did you feel the need to post evidence that you knew was false?

I am no ones agent !!!!!

I don't think you are on the take.

I don't think we should be taking sides of one board against the other, we should be glad we have two boards to frequent. POB provided us with a site for many years, and we should thank them.

I don't think some are being very fair to Kristi either.

Dennis.

Absolutely correct. I think us boundary guys get fixated on something and we grow... but not at the exponential rate of the whole profession.... thus sprouting the other offshoots/tangents...

I think fair should be a two way street, and not just Kristi's way. I think she is working vary hard to do it her way, and will end up killing POB.

I may not know what I am talking about, but I think the problem was the software they were using. It couldn't do the things many wanted. I believe Kristi wanted to make a site we would all like, but she had to make the bosses happy also.

I agree that they may end up killing the pob forum, and that is too bad.

I haven't noticed any speed issues with the RPLS site.

Maybe it's individuals connection speeds.

I personally don't care for the new RPLS site. Not that I won't visit it now and then. We all enjoyed the years spent on RPLS.com and some times I spent WAY to much time there. But the new site.......I get to the main page and....there is just TOO MUCH going on. I don't need a ton of different options to keep me interested. It actually makes me not interested. It might grow on me at some point, but for now it's just too busy even when nothing is getting posted. It just feels busy. I like simple. I want to be able to relax and enjoy the evening reading posts. I get plenty of mind racing complicated multi-tasking brain frying focused concentration trying to wade through tons of deeds on surveys. I need to go somewhere my brain can relax and not have to think so hard.

When I first visited this site I felt, quite literally, a peaceful feeling come over me. It just felt like 'home'

I do like the RPLS spell check. I've already edited this post twice and there's probably more typo's I didn't catch.:-P

You think this is about attacking Kristi, it is not. It is about holding her feet to the fire for actions that she, as the Administrator of the site and the editor of POB, chose to pursue. She made promises: promises to listen to feedback, promises of a changeover date, and she failed to follow through. Why is it not OK to point that out and demand an explanation?

She actually put the date in her magazine for the transition. It was her baby, she was the administrator. So if her employees were unable to deliver the site on time, here is an idea, pull the big banner touting the June 30th delivery date. They send out how many mass emails touting sale stuff, maybe send a mass email to the subscribers that the release date was being pushed back. But instead she did not ride the techs to get it working or else. She just missed the date and offered no apology. She released a product that was not ready and she offered no apology. She basically failed at her job. And we should not point that out? That her bosses wanted it that way was irrelevant. Her job was to sell us on it and to deliver on schedule. She failed on both fronts.

Kristi is not really accountable to me, I don't pay her salary.

I'm just going to try and get out of both sites as much as I can.

Mr Jennings, I find your conclusions offensive !

Time Sir that you restrain from inventing mischief!

I simply placed the post here, as what is the official explanation. Nothing more nothing less! Just as I posted on POB the original reason for the beta site being slow. Simply for information, as after all all who are posting here were on POB!

Can I repeat, I am nobody's agent. Jeeze, I have been my own boss for over 32 years and earned every cent and asset I own with out a single kick back or commission.

Can also say that you can not assume that every one knows the most fundamental facts. With 32 tears in business as a surveying consultant I never cease to be amazed how true this is.

I resent your stupid conclusions and await you to be a man enough to apologize for your seriously erroneous conclusions.

Spell check could potentially be added at some point. But those of us using Firefox have one built in to our browsers. 😉

Radu, no apology coming

YOu are trying to sell us on RPLS, there is no other reason for you to have posted her comments. That you refuse to acknowledge that makes my opinion of you much lower. To be a salesman does not mean you are on their payroll. There are many reasons why you may be trying to sell us on it. But you are trying to sell it to us.

You, yourself, said you posted it as evidence. You, yourself, said that you have always said the speed was a negative. Now it said that the speed was temporary and caused by transfer of data. That stands in marked contrast to your statement about speed. One or the other, but not both, must be true. So you get no apology for pointing out your discrepancy.

Mr Jennings I say that your conclusions are lunacy!

I am no way a salesman for pob ! Yes, I have met the publishers. But meeting Dan and Kristi does not make me their salesman.

Just as it does not make Wendell, whom I have also met on more than one occasion, a rebel for setting up this site. After all he has over the years had a number of attempts of setting up a chat board. The world is about freedom of choice ! No big deal, after all we all drive different motor vehicles for a multitude of different reasons!

As I have already posted here I suspect rpls will become the professional surveyor's site and that this site's content will include "the after 5 discourse", if you like discussing the days activity's, whats hot, whats cold etc, in other words the matters that crept into the evolving old board that seemed to be edging away from the original intent. And there is nothing wrong with that as this site is ideal for it as there are no content restriction for the sake of world brands advertising.

Yes it is totally my opinion . No knowledge of rpls thoughts on the matter.

I intend to continue visiting and posting on both sites because I have countless number of dear friends whom over the 9 years I have personally met!

You know, I ain't gonna argue with you

You think that is the board for Professional Surveyors, and this is just for cutting up. Fine. Think that way. Just do us all a favor and keep your PR for RPLS over there. You are a salesman. And my opinion of you is now solidified with your contemptuous comments from the last post.

Good day.

"I didn't sign up for a social network, I wanted to see what other surveyors say and add to or discuss what they say, that's all."

So why are you posting this?
Colors are good. Not much on black and white or grayscale.
