Sometimes I want to share a link to a thread with a friend who is not a member of this site and does not want to log in.?ÿ

Is there some way to do this?

I had been ask to provide proof of communication with others that I was having on chatsites before and I would copy and paste the content from the blog and paste the information into Word and save it by topic, party names and date.

Have not done that in over 20yrs. It was done to record the content of the conversations for verbal approvals and instructions we were giving and sharing with each other across private and public chat sites that may or may not exist anymore.

There were people from many sites around the globe conducting business over free chat lines instead of paying AT&T as much as $14 per minute over the phone.

All the content was for internal use and was never published or shared in whole. We referred to the information as minutes of our meetings online.

For most categories you can just copy the URL at the top of your browser and paste it into an email.?ÿ Some categories like chit-chat are only visible to those logged in.?ÿ To test, open a Private window (Firefox) or the equivalent for other browsers so it is not logged in, and see if the link works there.

What Bill said.

You can simply copy the URL from your browser's address bar. If you want to link to a specific reply within a topic, right-click the link icon in the top right corner of that specific reply and copy the link.

If you want to share on social media, then you should just use the share icons. See this announcement for details.

If the post you want to share is in any of the following forums, it is publicly viewable:

  • Announcements
  • Public Enquiries
  • Surveying & Related
  • Marketplace

All other forums and subforums are only available if you are logged in. This is because I only want the search engines to index pertinent threads, which means we get higher quality traffic and users. I don't want to get more traffic for the sake of getting more traffic -- I want to get more traffic that is relevant and useful to the surveying community (hence my use of the term "quality").

Thanks fellas. ?ÿI just wanted to share the Pink Floyd chit chat with my son. ?ÿCopy and paste seems too rough and cumbersome to this lazy old brick in the wall. ?ÿOh well. ?ÿWait isnƒ??t that Fleetwood Mac?
