Is there a way to force the site to display only My Selection? The setting doesn't seem to stick between sessions, or even within a session. Every now and then I notice that it's reverted to All Categories.

Hmmm, I wonder if it is a browser caching issue. But I'm not really sure either. When it shows you all categories, can you try hitting CTRL+F5? That should clear the cache for this site and force the browser to reload it. Please let me know how it goes.

That didn't seem to make a difference -- when I loaded the site this morning, it was back to All Categories.

One other question: Do you mean the selection in the dropdown box at the top right? If so, you can click on your name at the top, then click "edit profile", then check only the categories you want to see.

The selection itself isn't a problem, I've got that configured the way I want it. The problem is that when I reload the page by using the Back to the Forum Index link, the Refresh button, or the browser's Reload button, sometimes the dropdown box shows All Categories instead of My Selection, and I have to select My Selection again to filter out the categories I don't want to see.

OH, I get it now. It probably resets itself when you click "Back to forum", but it does seem like it should stick with your selection.

I just tried it with all the categories and can't seem to break it. I changed to a category, then clicked on a thread (from both the thread list and the latest topics box), then clicked "back to forum" on the top and bottom and even used the back button in my browser a couple times, but it never broke out of that category.

Using Firefox 3.6.6 in Windows 7. I'll give IE8 a try.

I cannot seem to replicate the problem, unfortunately. 🙁

I tried logging in as a non-admin user in Firefox, Chrome and IE8 and couldn't get the selection to break from whatever topic I had chosen.

So the only thing I'm wondering at this point is if you are using an older browser?

Firefox 3.6.6. It's an intermittent problem. Sometimes I can reload/refresh/return and it works fine, but then at some point I'll notice that All Categories is in effect again.

I'll monitor it to see if I can identify the sequence that causes the problem.

Thanks.

Just wondering if posting has anything to do with it. Ignore this post!

operator error is the issue...

I know because I have the same problem in either firefox or IE....

But I'm sure it's Jim's fault... 🙂

Near as I can tell, My Selection works fine when I'm in an active session, i.e. have a SurveyorConnect tab open and browse posts actively. I can read posts, reply to posts, go back to the forum index, refresh, etc. with no problem. However, if I leave that tab open and switch to another application for more than a few minutes, when I come back to SurveyorConnect and hit Refresh or "Back to the forum index," I end up with All Categories showing again. It's like the cookie times out. Is there anything special about the cookies the site uses that would cause that to happen?
