It looks as if "Wash_ita" is a banned word if you eliminate the underscore. Sure, the Wash_ita Mountains are in Oklahoma, but surely the occasional exception should be made. I mean, the mountains were there before any Okies arrived.

LOL Ken you have us giggling over here. He says it shouldn't do that and will look into it soon. Makes me wonder now if it blocks the word "saltwater". 😐

Who gives a sh:t! lol, there are a lot of banned words that make it through the algorithms, and many that don't. One just has to be creative. Unfortunately that creativity is probably what has your mountains uncite-able.

Sorry, had to say it!!! Maybe I should turn this off and watch dick clark!

No, "saltwater" is safely wrapped with "sal_er". I think it must be Oklahoma place names that are being zeroed in on. I can't say that I see any particular harm in banning them, but just leave the mountains, okay?

Why would you be watching Dick Clark?

Oh, yeah. New Years Rockin' Eve.

Wow, that is sooo 2010 here.

That being in Oklahoma where I have limited knowledge of its history, I wonder because of the translation of Native names that it is a different spelling of Ouachita to distinguish between the places by the Union on their maps as of fact that they are on opposite ends of the state.

So, if I understand you correctly, you're suggesting that "Ouachita" ought to be a banned word also? Who am I to say that it would be wrong? I mean, if Wash_ita, Tul_sa and Ard_more are banned, why not "Ouachita" as well? Only makes sense.

This thread reminded me of one of the funny remnants of a tornado about 40 years ago. The local paper published a number of photos of the damages and what survived. One photo featured the U WASH IT 25c car wash. The big multi-part sign was partly destroyed. The U WA and the 25c panels went down, leaving the middle part only.

:-O Oh chitola!!! 2011 brings in the banning of the words with "S" in them!!! 😉

I can always cuss in Italian and Spanish. My grandpa use to swear all the time in Italian. It was some the first Italian words I learned as a small kid. And where I grew up, Spanish was a second language so I learned those bad words first too from the other kids. :-$

Tulsa, Ardmore? I don't see what could be banned in these names.

I think that the bad language filter has been adjusted so that they may be used in posts on a trial basis to see if things get out of hand.

Reminds me of a time when a school student couldn't web search for his own school name on the school's machines -- it seemed the word "high" was banned! Maybe its an urban myth, but it still sounds like a good cautionary tale.
