I see that we are now sporting badges of honor (or shame).
What's this all about?
I'm guessing that if I post thousands of new topics, I'll get a more distinguished badge.
That's pretty much all it is. I was thinking about turning it off, actually.

DING DING DING! I was wondering who would be the first to notice and post about it. 😉

I've turned it off and I'll leave it off unless I see torch-bearing protesters outside my window.
Funny that this old thread is about me removing the badges, yet here we are discussing the badges. 😉
This is all subject to change, as I mentioned in another thread, because my long-term goal for badges is to use an entirely different system than I'm using now. That said, here's the current settings:
The first one is the traffic cone, for new users, until they get 10 posts under their belts.
Levels 1 thru 5 are plumbobs.
Levels 6 thru 8 are total stations.
Levels 9 and 10 each have a unique icon, but I'm not tellin' what they are since nobody's gotten there yet. 😉
As you can see, it's all based on number of posts. For the long-term goal, I want to have badges for number of posts, likes, years of membership, and maybe some other cool stuff. 🙂
Badges for likes is good.

Badges for likes is good.
I will likely be embarrassed & curious to find out how often I click the like button. ?ÿReminds me of my pal, Don B out west. ?ÿHope he is doing well.

You can already see that in your profile.
@brad-ott?ÿ is one of the most, perhaps the most, generous poster here in terms of likes.

Reflectorless ??
@bill93 I just did some math, I have only ??liked? ~1.5% of all the posts. ?ÿ
This worm is wiggling in my brain. ?ÿVery often, I do not have words that I feel will benefit or add to a thread or post or message or idea. ?ÿ
These past couple days I have tried to restrain myself from ??liking? so many posts. ?ÿI think it has something to do with my ego??s desire to let the world know that I was here, while at the same time being too afraid to add my own words to the conversation.
I dabble in the human psychological experiment.
Carry on. ?ÿNothing to see here.
When you comment, Brad, the image that always come to mind is the photo you provided of yourself a long time ago.?ÿ It was effectively split down the center with each side being the mirror image of the other.?ÿ Post that again sometime.
