I have had to get in a habit of trying to remember to copy and save my posts before posting. It seems like more than half the time I "submit" it goes all the way out of the thread without actually submitting the post. I can go back in and reply to the same post, and paste in my saved post and it almost always takes the second time. I think it has to do with the longer it takes to make the actual first post, the greater the odds of me losing it.

Does anyone else have that problem? Maybe it's just something with my computer.

Yes, I have noticed that things will "time out" if you take too long to hit the "submit" button.

It's that virus started by Al Zimerz. You just never know when it'll get you.

Has happened to me a few times, when it does, I seldom recreate it.

maybe it "times out" if that's what it's called, but I'm always still logged in.

It's a timeout. I believe it is set for 20 minutes. You don't get logged out but the post itself expires. It's actually a security feature.

I've had one of those >20 minutes time outs once. When that happened I had a message telling me it had timed out and it gave me a chance to save my post before logging back in.

This other thing is different. I press "submit" and it doesn't post and I am still logged in and it happens in much less time than 20 minutes. I'm guessing it's something on my server maybe.

Best to work things up in other places like Open Office or MS word. Better spell check also. When done just cut and paste.

On any website, after writing up something lengthy in a form, I will often select all of my text and hit CTRL+C (copy) before submitting the form. In the event it doesn't make it through, it's still sitting in my clipboard and I can paste it into the form and try again. If problems continue to persist and I want to keep the text, I'll create a text file on my desktop and paste it in there for safe keeping.

Just some thoughts. 🙂

I had it happen to an entire thread a few weeks ago. The thread "Client Rant", which was mostly about mindless remarks from idiotic Phillipinos, mysteriously disappeared. Hopefully this is a technical problem that can be fixed.

It was purposely removed. Sorry. :-/

Hey Wendell

I don't know if you did anything since this thread, but that dropping off problem has seemed to quit (or cut way down.) If it's anything you did, thanks.

Hey Wendell

You're welcome, but I really didn't do anything. 🙂

I would bet that it was a connection issue related to one of the servers between you and us. Maybe not your ISP but maybe one of the "hops" along the way.
