The icon menu on my desktop implementation of Firefox includes a button for posting a URL, but on my Android phone that button seems to be absent. Are the menu items different, or am I just not recognizing the link icon?

I think the menu items are probably different because I don't see a "New Posts" option on mobile, just "Recent Posts"

After I paste the link in the reply box...
A link icon appears on my phone but it is not there until I paste the link.

But I don't think it is necessary

I posted a URL in the recent thread on Getac gear, and it appeared as a link but with no way that i could see to"hide" the URL in other text (I'm spacing out on the term for that).

Here's what I see. It's the chain link with a green plus symbol in the top row, near center.

Once I zoomed in on it I could see it. Without zooming in it looks like some kind of disk icon, so it didn't catch my eye.
