For some reason I cannot embed flash videos on this site. When I pull of the flash dialog it won't let me past into the code box. Any clues on why this is? I'm running windows internet explorer 8 on Windows 7/64 bit machine. I'm wondering if the 64 bit is the problem.
Bob
Everything you are using sounds like it would be fine. Websites don't care whether you are using 32-bit or 64-bit. I can't seem to replicate the problem (using Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and IE8), so I'm not sure what the problem is. I would recommend doing a scan for malware and maybe some housekeeping, since many kinds of infections can cause all kinds of weird problems.
Isn't there something required where you must click on "old embed code". At least on youtube it works
Bob,
Check your Addons under Tools.
You may have the video view disabled. Shockwave Flash in particular.
Some of these tools will disable them for[to] you.
Being disabled I wasn't able to watch anything from youtube.
I kept getting messages saying I had to upgrade - which I already was.
Wayne is correct under Shareembed, go to the bottom of the list and pick "Use old embed code".
Bob said something about not being able to paste into the code field. The field will let you enter anything into it, so it sounds more like a local problem.

Yep. If all else fails, reboot and try again...
