I'm trying to extract an email address of a poster in order to send him something - I'm at a loss of where to find his email from his profile.
In the user directory at the bottom of any page in the about column, if they have an e-mail adress in their profile it will be in the right hand column under e-mail. there will be an envelope shown.
Easiest way is just look next to the posters name on their post. If there is an email in profile there will be an envelope. If they have a webpage there will also be a house. Otherwise, I belive they've blocked it when they signed up.

Good odds that it was their website (or facebook, myspace, etc) that got them in that doghouse...
Those that make their email address avaiable can be identified by the little envelope next to their name in their posts. Those that have chosen NOT to allow their email address to be shared have no envelope next to their name.
