I believe I have reported this before a few times... maybe it is flash related. It has been a continual issue with this ne software.
frequently (not daily, but at least once a week) I get a malformed window like this. sometimes closing the browser and reopening it works, sometimes I have to wait a day or two.

I have experimented with reboots, browsers, etc. but have not been able to determine a way to repeat the error.

I have no idea what could be causing this, but if you are waiting a few days for it to fix itself, that sounds like a caching problem of some sort. I've not had any other reports and I can't replicate the problem, so it's nearly impossible for me to find or fix it.

it appears there is some sort of script running intermittently in the background that my OS blocks.
I was told that there is a thread on the xenforo forum, no link was provided and I did not look for it
thanks again

Well there's all kinds of scripts running on this site for all the functionality. There wouldn't be a website at all if we didn't have scripts, so I have no idea what it could be.

Of course I'm not sure if this will help, but there appears to be five(?) scripts running in the background here (for all I know).
I noticed blocking the script surveyorconnect.com makes the Post Reply button disappear. The rest don't affect the relative performance, but then again I don't know if this disrupts any attempts at advertisement or other essential functions.
