geez Kent from the original post. My guestimate was about 4k+ too high and your statistical analysis was 6k too low.

Hey, if you see any homeless guys wearing high-vis vests with a sign reading "Will Work for Budwiser", take a photo, will you. :>
And besides the one on top of your head. What is your point?
Tell us that Charlie Brown.
> What is your point?
Okay, so you're out there by the side of the highway with the cardboard sign waving to motorists and trying to look both downtrodden and optimistic that some kind soul is going to help you invest in that 12-pack with your name on it. The cars aren't stopping, though. In fact, they may be speeding up a little, so you you figure maybe you can spear some trash with the machete to make it look as if you're doing a public service. But then it comes to you. Some guys on the internet are working on a numerical estimation problem in real time that involves a non-linear function. That's what guys do who don't stand out in the heat all day with a cardboard sign with "budwiser" written on it. You shake your head and marvel that some folks don't know what a good deal standing by the side of the road with a cardboard sign is.
