For some reason my TSC2, version 12.46 is stuck in windows and the trimble key won't let me access survey controller, it says "error opening the shortcut or locating the target filename". Am I stupid or what am I doing wrong?
You are not stupid
The key is working
But something has happened to the file it is trying to access. It may have been accidentally moved, it may have been deleted, it may be corrupt.
I would start with a full reset of the controller and see how you get on from there.
I have booted the collector...still nothing...don't really want to do a full reset at this time....I was punching in stuff for wifi and bluetooth access and mobile phone access....I'm not sure what happened...:-S
can you start survey controller from the desktop icon (or start menu)?
If you mean the start button next to the windows logo at top left corner...No...
My TSC2 batteries are dead so can;t check. On the TSC3 there is a desktop with icons for all the different programs (file explorer, settings, etc;). If it's the same then there should be an icon for survey controller.
I am vaguely remembering that on the TSC2 there is a start menu in the bottom right corner like Windows on a PC.
There must be a way to start the program without the button. If this works OK then you just need to reprogram the button. Otherwise you have more serious problems that might need a re-install of survey controller.
I have an icon at the top (trimble) when I click on that it shows radio options, and Trimble Com port Settings (which won't connect) in the remove programs under settings, Trimble Survey Controller (English) and Trimble Survey Controller (Appication) is still listed as in storage memory.
Switch it off and on again? (hold power key in for 3 secs)
No, not working...
