I really like RTX, and in fact I am giving a presentation at Dimensions about RTX.?ÿ
It has happened twice in the last two weeks that RTX on the receiver would not work, it says it is offshore. Apparently Fugro has the rights to sell the service for offshore work.?ÿ
It would not work in Guyana along the coast (but on solid ground, not out in the water), and this week we got the same error message in coastal Texas. VERY aggravating. We are using VRS in Texas, but no cell service in this area. So, switch to RTX, and cannot use that either. Seems like they are a little too aggressive with the geofence.?ÿ

Wow. On the upside you couldn't have picked a better time to visit the coast. The bull redfish run is the best time for fishing. A couple of surf rods and Penn Levelwinds, and you would have the winning presentation at that Trimble conference. The flounder should start migrating pretty soon, if they haven't started already, just in case you make the trip again. ?ÿ

It was not the best time to be there, we had to charter a boat on Friday to get out to some islands, not exactly ideal weather (rainy all week). This is post-hurricane recovery work, last time I did that type of work in 2005 after a hurricane south of Corpus I had to charter a helicopter.?ÿ
John, how does the RTX solution compare to an RTN one say in TX? We don't have the hardware currently, BUT these satellite correction services are worthy of investigation if/when we upgrade hardware. Just wondering if it provides the accuracy we are used to?
