The company I work for has recently purchased an R12i.
We have a NetR9 mounted permanently to serve as a CORS and broadcast RTK corrections.
Now I am far from a GNSS expert but I stressed my concern regarding the compatibility and the ability to get the full benefit of the R12i utilizing all of the GNSS constellations.
The specs that I see for the NetR9 state that it can track GPS L1/L2/L5 and GLONASS L1/L2.
With that said the answer may be obvious so please excuse my ignorance. I just wanted to check with some of you experts here for some confirmation.
We have a rep coming in a few weeks but I wanted to get a head start.
The NetR9 comes in 4 different configurations: TI-1, TI-2, TI-3, and TI-M. It looks like you may have the TI-2 model that only tracks GPS & GLONASS. You can purchase the option from Trimble to turn on the Galileo and Beidou signals - I am not sure on what that would cost.

If you do want to track Galileo and/or Beidou, you will need to use CMRx rather than RTCM corrections

I actually don't know what configuration the NetR9 is.
I'm looking at the specs now, lets hope for the T1-1 config.?ÿ
I haven't been with this Co. long and have basically been stuck catching them up on drafting.
Besides that most of the employees here are doing no work from home ???? whoops I mean working from home. It makes it tough for a new hire like myself to get up to speed on these types of things.

To get the full benefit of the R12i you definitely need to have Galileo enabled; Beidou will also help IF the firmware in the R9 is new enough to fully support it. And as is mentioned above you should use CMRx as your correction format.
We had the same setup for our R10's. When we upgraded to the R12i's, Per our Trimble dealer we had to replace the NetR9 to a Trimble Alloy GNSS receiver to be able to get the full benefits of the R12i.
