Hello everyone. I have a pair of Topcon Hiperlite+ that I love. They are the 900mhz radios or FH915. My radio went out on one of them. Does anyone know where I can find a used radio board? I already looked on ebay.?ÿ If you have an old hiperlite that isnt working I would be willing to take a chance on buying the board out of it. I am really in need of a radio board. Please help if your able to. Thank you.
?ÿ
?ÿI recommend against swapping boards on any Hiper you have that works. If you are lucky and can find a compatible unit that works just use it.?ÿ ?ÿHere is my story.....?ÿ ?ÿ?ÿ
Had a HiperLite+. One of the units went dead. I took it to the local Topcon Dealer. They confirmed that a board had gone out, and that no parts were available.?ÿ
I posted here asking about anyone else who had one dead one and one good one. A few people posted. Mine was GNSS and most of those available were GPS only.?ÿ?ÿ
Boss had a friend that "knew all about electronics". He took both of the units apart. Swapped board from one to the other. Confirmed that the board was indeed dead. And that no parts were available.?ÿ
Meanwhile, this board came through and a person with one good compatible unit, and local, offered it up for sale. We concluded a deal for not much money.?ÿ Joy!
I took it back to the office. Now neither of our old units would fire up. They were both dead. The act of switching them back and forth had killed the "good" one too.?ÿ
So we returned?ÿ the "new" Hiper and bought a pair of Trimble R8s'.?ÿ?ÿ

ps - tell us more about just what make and model you are looking for. That unit we briefly had may still be available!?ÿ
Thank you for your reply. You have given me a glimmer of hope! 🙂 I have a pair of Topcon Hiperlite+. The radios are interchangeable in the GNSS and GPS Versions. Can you sell me one of your old radio boards? The one that didnt ruin them both. lol
I don't use Hiper Lite anymore, as many radios have failed. I know of many for sale. But I now use Sokkia GCX and Hiper V's with Satel CompactProof blue tooth to UHF radio. Sokkia recently introduced a?ÿR4S-BT, blue tooth UHF radio. These are light weight cable free radios that can extended the range and the life if your Hiper Lites for the cost $2000, which is less the cost of the radio board in the Hiper Lite. If you could fund them.

These external radios can also be used as a UHF repeater.

oof thats a lot of money extra to spend on what was already an expensive receiver purchase.

?ÿ ?ÿ Do you have a copy of the radio firmware saved somewhere? I thought I archived it somewhere but I cant find it. I have the FH915 radios in the topcon hiper lite+
My e mail is drkellog at yahoo dot com
Thank you
...the reason I ask is the TX light is blinking red over and over. I read somewhere that is supposed to be an indication that the unit knows there isnt an antenna on top of it and it turns radio off to prevent damage to the radio. But if you have an old copy of the radio firmware please e mail it to me so i can try to reload it. Maybe Ill get lucky. lol?ÿ
I have it somewhere if not I can get it from the Dealer's website. I am traveling to Fort Wayne Indiana today so it will be awhile before I can get to that.
OK. Many thanks?ÿ

Trimble took those units as trade ins. Long gone. And that's good because the last thing I needed around here was another hunk of obsolete and broken down surveyor junk.?ÿ?ÿ
My Topcon Hiperlite Plus has been taking forever to get a fix lately. I told SURVCE to RESET SETTINGS on the hiperlite and that didnt seem to help. Do you know what settings I need to set in PCCDU to make the Hiperlite+ work best? And do you know of any GLONASS Sats I need to turn off so it works better etc??ÿ
Thank you
