I collected some static data with my Trimble 5700 this weekend. For some reason it continued the dat file from my last observation. Anyone else ever have this happen?

Normally I just power up the receiver and start logging data which automatically starts a new file. I had to break up the rinex and get the old data out to get it to process.

Would it continue the file if you powered down without ending the previous survey?

Interesting problem and doubtful one can find the exact reason.

That being said how long did it take you to find the problem?

I open every RINEX file after it is created, before doing anything else, and may take out and epoch or few.

Took about 5 minutes to figure it out, but it was just weird and unexpected. Maybe the reason it happened is because the battery ran out in the middle of the last observation, but I've had that happen before without experiencing this.
