I enjoyed the OPUS Project Manager Course back in June. Really helped me to refresh the brain on a lot of things that I have not done in a while. ?ÿI had to visit the OPUS page today to read through a few items. We had a project that I was just handed to try and fix And on both ends of approximately a mile traverse they had done OPUS-RS on pairs at each end. One end no result could be determined back when they had sent the files. I re sent them today and was able to get results but not sufficient time was used for the area of mountains and trees to get the results we require. ?ÿBut I am within about a foot after playing around with it backing in and such for a rough set off coordinates I can update later this week. I will burn for a lot longer this week as I am headed up tomorrow to meet the crews. Get them started. ?ÿI will be trying to recover an old BM set about a mile from the site as well. Thank you for posting as it is always a good read to help refresh the brain.?ÿ
I think the OPUS Projects is the best thing since slice bread. Very easy and if for no other reason to give a sanity check on off the shelf software. ?ÿI have a 19 miles of work that was done gia static before me and I plan on sending the raw data through OPUS Projects as some peculiar approach to off the shelf was done. Holding and using all data between CORS in one session 4 of them to create a square around project. I am more use to flowing from CORS to my site and building independent baselines around my site for relative accuracy and still checking to CORS in the wagon wheel approach for my datum. I am sure it is fine just not what I have been taught.?ÿ
@jitterboogie When the wife gets done putting the kidos to bed I will ask her when the next available class is. I use to spend a lot of time on the NGS site when I was at NGA working nights. I would just watch the old webinars over and over . All that knowledge is all scrambled in my brain now days. Lol. It really is a great course and pairing that course with some of the datums courses and others kind of helps bring things together. ?ÿIt is mostly focused on the process and how to use it like a software class but great bits and pieces to pair with GPS and error source knowledge. It will only cost you time off from work unfortunately. I took it and with no pay lol. But knowledge is worth something as well. At my previous company I was the only one who had been through it and the only one but one other that has actually processed static data of any sort. But not many do that type of work in their displine. I am pretty confident when I look at a site to know when to suggest static vs rtk. For control. ?ÿI like using all the tools terrestrial, Levels, rtk and static on large sites to accomplish what is needed. You should go through it even if you never use it its just another wrinkle in the brain as my teacher use to say. Lol.
@jitterboogie October 17th 18th but its full you can get on the waiting list. Next one is December 6th and 7th she thinks. If you email her just tell her the husband said you have to let me in the class. ?ÿLol. No don??t say that or I will be in big trouble. ?ÿThey really do fill up fast I believe. I was on two waiting list and finally enrolled on the 3rd one and was able to get in. I think she did it on purpose. Lol.
@jitterboogie The December class is by Dave Z. He truly does a great job. He was who taught mine. All of them do great though I am sure.
