Ladies and/or Gentlemen,

I've recently acquired a set of Promark 3 receivers and was curious about using an external battery to power one of the receivers as a base. My question is this : can I power the promark 3 with a 12 volt battery, such as a motorcycle battery, without having to have any kind of inline reduction in voltage? In other words, will using an external battery straight to the receiver harm the receiver?

I use the Magellan cigarette lighter power adapter 730394-01-E and a portable starter pack.

Mine cost $18ea and they are like $70+ online if you can find one.

You can use a 12v DC source because that is what the office charger outputs.

A car battery outputs nearly 14v when fully charged and that may be too much.

I like using the adapter because it regulates power and provides a fuseable link in case of a surge.

Before I got the adapter I used a car battery connected to a 120v inverter connected to the office charger.
