I got a text message from a survey friend, giving me a "heads up" about the data collected from older GPS units not being able to be processed through OPUS any longer.
He said that the with the old Trimble 4700 units, the Locus and the Z-surveyor units you are no longer able to submit the data for processing, and that it had just happened in the last few weeks.
Has anyone tried to send in data from older units that was not being processed?
I tried to search here and around the Interweb but I am not finding anything about it?
Thanks.
I'm not sure about the Ashtech units, but the 4700 firmware prior to a certain rev level doesn't properly account for the GPS week number beyond a certain date in February of this year. Check out this thread for a discussion and a workaround.
Well, we ran about 20 static occupations with 3 Locus units on Friday. The data files downloaded with names indicating the year 1997 the day of the year as 108. The time of day althou Anyway, went ahead and processed the data OK. I'll check out the thread Jim shows.
There is a fix for that but Trimble won't talk about it. See the FIXDATE propgram herein, but I got tired of trying to get it to work. I purchase the X90 unit from iGage in Salt Lake City to do my static work. It works great for that kind of work. See discussions on this forum.

Anyone experiencing this problem with the older Sokkia units

As I recall, the older Sokkia stuff was rebranded Ashtech, so the same issues would apply.
There is an NGS webinar on OPUS scheduled for this Thursday, 12/8/16, for those interested.

Which models? The really old Sokkia models like the 2200 were Z-12s from Ashtech- the newer old stuff like the 2700ISX were not- they were a joint devel product from Sokkia and Novatel and should be fine- even for the upcoming leap second. If you are not familiar with the upcoming leap second contact your dealer and see if an upgrade to your firmware will be required!
Try this utility "FixRnxDate"; it should fix the date automatically
