Hi All,
I suppose this is an age old issue when trying to connect between leica trimble and topcon. On our job site we are using a Leica GS15 base station. we have grader and a dozer both with trimble gps machine control. The issue I am having is that the machines are getting numbers on their screens that only last for a couple hours then 'low GPS accuracy' message comes up on their screen.
Base setting we are using are:
- Satel
- 4 FSK
- 12.5 spacing
- FEC on
- RTCM V3
- 9600 Baud rate
?ÿ
Can anyone please HELP!!!! i'm pulling my hair out.
P.S i dont want to use trimtalk @ 4800 baud rate
I can help... call your Sitech rep and get whatever base setup they recommend for your machines. How many hours do you have to spend screwing with this before you wasted more money in down time than a base costs???

Sure, and then somebody gets a good deal on a dozer with Topcon on it so they might as well buy another receiver and the lucky surveyor can setup all 3 bases in a row.....
Does the low accuracy occur
around the same time of day?
Or does it only occur when
the oporator switches from
course to fine grading??ÿ
Does this problem occurs with
just the machines or does it
affect the rover units as well?
Thanks for the replies. The sitech team just setup a trimble base and had the machines working. only problem is they set the base to CMRx, so my leica rover cant use it.... yeh I'm a tad angry.
As the help stopped there, i am testing our Leica base at another site with trimble Machines to determine whether its my base or their old trimble?ÿ machine control.
PROBLEM FOUND AND RESOLVED!!!!?ÿ
Today I finally found the issue with connecting my GS15 Leica base to any Trimble machine control. In the Leica base setup menu there is the option to L2C . the default setting is 'always track', but this needs to be set to 'automatic'. as soon as this was done we had a fix!!
Settings used are:
- Satel 4FSK
- 9600 Baud rate
- 12.5 Spacing
Turn L2C to 'Automatic"
@squireocallaghan omg thanks so much. We have had this same issue with Trimble machine control and our GS14 base. There isnt an option to set L2C to automatic thought. I just turned the setting to off and it seems to get the corrections in the machines now. Thanks so much
