The add in the February "GPS World" says an L1/L2 OPUS receiver for $1990.00.
Who has actually bought one?

I'm not sure they're shipping yet. My understanding is that production ramp-up of the Triumph-2 is what's holding up the Triumph-LS 2-week trial, as Javad decided to include a Triumph-2 and a UHF radio in the package to make it a complete base-rover setup.
Should be fun!
It's for real. About the size of three field books stacked. Between Javad's Triumph2 and Mark Silver's. X90 the excuses for not tying surveys to NSRS are getting pretty small.
Is The Antenna Built In ?
Plus it says it has a 25 hour battery.
Is the battery internal or changeable?
Not that it would matter for what I do.

Oh, and I forgot to tell you guys that are signed up for the 2-week trial: I replied to my email and got a response directly from Javad. It sounds like there will be around 4 batches of units mailed out, and I asked to be put in the very last batch so that the weather would improve around here first. I'm not doing much fieldwork right now with 3-4 feet of standing snow. Javad agreed, so if you want to wait more until spring, then reply to your email - it will take a couple of days to process through and you should get a response.
$2k or static, $2.5 for GPS and GLONASS on the OPUS unit.
Scroll down, complete RTK for $10,500
Can't wait to check it out. I'm gonna switch my demo unit around and use the LS for a base, and the triumph-2 for the rover.

The controller is built into the LS, so unless you have another compatible data collector available, that plan won't work out very well.
Is Javad Serious ? L1/L2 Receiver For $1990.00 ?
I'm seriously thinking about buying the whole RTK shebang. I have noticed, though, that these receivers will not track the L5 signals. Maybe he is adding some planned obsolescence?
I would rather use a separate Data Collector, though. Well I should probably give the LS a try before I say that now.
From what I understand, everyone that I have spoken to (or read on here about) has been impressed with the performance of Javad equipment.
I am betting that the Triumph-1 continues to exist, but gets the Triumph-2 chip. Since someone thought it was a good idea to put the Triumph-1 chip in the new Triumph-2 instead of reformatting the products and their names...
Receiver Setup And OPUS Submission With An I-Phone App
So who needs a data collector.
Is the app free or very cheap?

Receiver Setup And OPUS Submission With An I-Phone App
The app is nice, but there is also a record button, and the price comes with a download cable. So if you just note which point was started when, you don't need a DC for static anyway.
From what I understand the app isn't for anything but static.
Static Is What I Do
OPUS and OPUS-RS, post process and adjust field work.

Anyone know if you can run Javad's equipment with other data collectors?
Maybe I am missing it, but I don't see the triumph 2 as a NGS modeled antenna?
Carlson, but I don't see the triumph 2 listed yet

I don't know Paul. This is the first I have heard of this.
When did you develop the "Lisp" in your Typing?
Rweceiver? LOL
Rweceiver = Fat Finger
I got the "we" in one strike.

call me old fashioned but I'm not a fan of the ccontroller and antenna in one unit
It Is Just A Super Locus
With 108 times as many channels.
The antenna portion looks small, but is as big as most antenna cores.

Once he gets input on what we actually need and don't need or want (GPS Umbrella?)
JAVAD will be a force to be reckoned with and Trimble, Topcon, Leica, and all the others may have a rude awakening.
He's getting there
