If you are using a Leica CS20 on the Verizon network, would you be willing to share your Verizon Rep??s contact info?
After motherboard failure in my data collector, I needed to set everything up again, and the Verizon Rep that set everything up has gone on to better things , and his replacement is unwilling to help. My Leica rep has been unable to find anyone either, and suggested swapping to AT&T.?ÿ
Verizon has the best coverage in my working area unfortunately.
Thanks,
Justin
Really all you need from the Verizon people is your APN.?ÿ This video should show everything you need to get it going yourself after you have that.?ÿ
If you're connecting to SmartNet though you should let your current subscription lapse and get a new one first chance.?ÿ New SmartNet subscriptions come with a SIM card from Leica.?ÿ The way it was described to me this SIM card rides behind the scenes in the cell networks using whichever network is providing the strongest signal where you're at.?ÿ There is no additional cost for the data, it's just part of the network subscription.?ÿ I've transferred all my CS20's over to this method and i'm just waiting for my 2 year contract to run out to drop my Verizon M2M data accounts.?ÿ Good luck!
I have almost 40 of them and the outlook is bleak according to my Leica Rep... We had one go down and it needed a new board, just like yours. They changed it out and the modem was new. Verizon refused to activate it as a "new device" siting the end of service for 3G. Leica's answer was to use a MiFi device to connect the CS20 to our CORS. At that time there was no Verizon solution from Leica but they have one coming and have promised us that they will keep us running. The new LTE CS20 has passed certification with Verizon and will be released before 12/31/19.

Our devices are leased and they have a contractual obligation to provide us with Verizon capable devices. I'm assuming that if you just purchased one outright, they might not feel as much responsibility to replace it for you...
