The Base is a Base ...................... is a Base ...................... is a Base $(!@#$%(!^
Turn it off
the next day
turn it on
mag mount down

I suppose any Base does what i did last before you turned it off why not !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
turn it on it did what it did last

ANY ROVER with this site_spec.ref file in the base head and THE site localization in DC will start up and run Period in 5 seconds
OF course you have to be on the same UHF channel as the base........ for the

This is the simplest thing in the World my god
Don't use tripods just mag mount the base to any metal plate with good sky
Set hi to any number 2*16e12!&)^#@! = E+MC^2 or best zero for example itS about the here and
localization

MOST IMPORTANTLY SET THE MAG MOUNT BASE IN THE SAME SPOT EVERYDAY DAY
AND USE A REPEATER

Off course if you go to a new site you will need to load a old base ref file or make a new
XXX . ref one if if a new site and localize of course

WHY MEASURE UP FROM A CONTROL POINT

Why move the Base use a repeater
use a repeater.....................

ITS SO SIMPLE...............

On new site doing the here and then localize

Using a Leica GS 14 and Carlson Surv Ce 5.02
on new site i would enter 0.000 for the position of the base head
above base to a here mark
NOTE THIS is base set up anywhere who cares about the base head height

Of course carlson SurvCe DC soft would complain
"zero base head detected" for the here base position on a New site
well i would enter -0.001 just to dumb down the software
it wants a number

For some reason the soft expects me to set the base over a PILLAR
whats a PILLAR WHY a PILLAR

Oh well leica and Carlson not a problem

Topic starter

Bringing back the topic after all these months. So yesterday i was in a haste. I went up to the base and initialised. As mentioned i'm using Spectra Survey Pro. So i created a new project, i started the survey and connected to the base but then i hit finish setup and i imagined i could setup the rover on site. But that was not the case. Once on the site, i loaded the project i created, i connected to the rover but it could not communicate with the base i set up earlier. I still cannot for the life of me understand, why you have to connect to both of them at the same time, for the first time before you start the projects
