A single GLONASS K was launched today. I has some improvements over a GLONASS K launched several years go. This single launch was made from Russian territory aboard a Soyuz rocket. Future K launches will be in pairs on Soyuz, not in threes from a Proton rocket lunched from Kasakhstan. The latest GLONASS broadcasts 5 channels with a new civilian channel. It is lighter and has more power and predicted lifespan is 10 years not 7.

Lots of interesting and useful (GPS) news.

Plus the Coast Guard Navigation Center:

http://www.navcen.uscg.gov/

There I keep a check on the GPS status. There you can sign up to receive a daily email update on GPS status as well as forecasts for individual GPS outages.
