Carlson Surveyor2 internal GPS raw data question

Can I store raw data from the internal GPS on a Surveyor2 in Store Points mode? I see the store raw data option but it saves each one as a separate file and is a pain to use. Just looking to take readings on wetland flags to post process later.

I think you have to purchase the GPS software module to do that.

Tom,
Would it not be easier to just store the point in Carlson? I think you can average the point for a certain amount of time even in internal mode. You have to setup a new rover in the equipment tab, manufacturer: carlson, model: Surveyor2 L1

Right, my understanding is you have to use it, to do what you want to do. But I'm just in the process of purchasing and going by what the salesman said.

It is easy to do this and to store it from the survey screen, I was seeing 3 meter results with it last night. I was hoping to process the data for better results (1 meter). Is this even possible or worth it with an L1 only receiver?

OK, got it, so you want to post process it. To tell you the truth, I have done the exact same thing, but I just used the internal memory on my Hiper. I logged a 60sec file, and went to the next flag. I post-processed in Tools later. I was running a local base, only about 1500 ft away, and the results were pretty impressive considering the tree cover. That was before Carlson for me, so I don't know exactly how to get what you are doing, beyond using Carlson to turn static logging on-off, which would not be much help I guess.

The post processed L1 should be better than a real time non-corrected and averaged position. And a dual freq solution should give you even better results. If it were me, and I was walking the wetlands, I would try to get teh most data on the first trip through, even if that meant lugging a static receiver with you - and in my solution you would not even need the data collector as long as you followed the flags in order.

The raw data is for collecting static data for post processing. Is not meant to work like stop'n'go routine.
If you want to use internal gps of the pda in nmea mode i dont think you can post process.

Thats a shame...wonder why? Is the L1 data not worth post processing?
