The firm I worked for recently acquired another firm and there is now some surplus stuff setting around.

The stuff is a little dated but can still provide good results. We has a Trimble 4800 GPS receiver, two of the Trimble L1/L2 receivers (typically used for the base with the 4800) with the large 14 inch ground plane. Also the old style GPS pole with the pole batteries, couple cow bell batteries and all the cables and bags. Two TSCE controllers, one Husky controller and approximately 3 HP48 with TDS cards.

There is also a Topcon 802A robot. Works fine but the Satal radio batteries are shot. We may try to keep this around for awhile and recell the batteries - but if someone else could really use it and needs to upgrade and add a gun this one would be a good we may let it go now.

If anyone in interested shoot me an email - the link above works. Thanks

Ryan,

A set of the Parani radios would be much easier, cheaper, and lighter than the Satel radios. I made the switch on my GPT8005A about 2.5 years ago, and have had excellent results.

Jimmy,

I came across a couple of posts on here with you mentioning the Parani radios. I am thinking of purchasing a set as my Satel's are shot pretty much as well. I've never worked with these or with anyone who has, so is the set up difficult? How well do they stay locked in? How do they compare to the Satel's overall? I'm running GTS825A with Recon DC

Much thanks for any insight you can provide.

-Daniel

Are the 48's for sale? If so which TDS card? SurveyPro or cogo?

I plugged mine straight in, and never missed a beat. Never really had to change any settings that I remember. I screw the one into the data collector, and it stays put. I use the extended battery on both of mine. I use the null modem adapter and a standard instrument cable to connect to the instrument. You can also use the Satel cable to connect to the instrument as well.

There are a few different sources available to purchase the Parani radios.

I wish I would have found out about them a long time ago.
