We are looking to unload older working trimble RTK units. The units vary in models, but base and rover units consist of 4700's, R7's, 5700, 5800, with external radios (trimark 3, PDL, HPB). Perhaps the pricing varies depending on the combination of these, but was curious if anyone has bought or sold similar units recently, and what they sold/paid for them?

I just recently had to do some similar research when we upgraded our GPS system from a 5700/5800 base/rover with a Trimark3 radio to a couple R8 GNSS receivers. The dealer didn't want to take the older equipment on a trade in so I stepped in and acquired the setup for about 5k for myself for doing side work. The narrowbanding requirements for the radios play into the value as I assume if they aren't compliant with the new FCC licensing requirements, there not worth selling. There a number of outfits dealing in used equipment and that should give you a sense of what it's going for, which is what led me to beleive I was getting a pretty good deal on my 'trade in' deal. Do some google searches but bottom line is they're only worth what someone's willing to pay!

Go to the "advanced" search in eBay and you can select "sold listing". eBay will tell you the going value of almost anything on Earth.

Scott/Williwaw,

Thanks, I will certainly look through the ebay listings, and maybe contact a used dealer for a lot purchase. Our dealer said they would consider trade in on the 5800 and newer models, however we aren't necessarily looking to trade in for R10's at this point.

Hub/ncdan,

We are in the process of putting units together. Long story short, we had about 25 units come in from the field 2 years ago, and each unit was broken down. Cables in one corner, receivers in one corner, radios in the other, etc. sort of thing. Last year we put 10 units back together, tested the radios for range, and inventoried each one. We are now finishing the job with the other units. Each unit will likely come with a TSC2 v12.49.

You can contact me at:
tylert@cooksanders.com

I plan on meeting with our area manger in the next week or so to get the rest of everything together, and start selling the units.

Is the equipment in the Salt Lake or Wyoming office? I might drop by and take a look.

LRDay,

We have a couple units in our Salt Lake office, and the majority in our Evanston Office. Your welcome to stop in if you get a chance. Shoot me an email with a time, and we can show the ones we have ready.

Trimmark 3's can be reconfigured to work in the 12.5 khz band.

See you local dealer.

I think you can also stay in the 25K band if you transmit at 19200. I'm looking at picking up one of these radios. Anybody test which mode has the most range?
