V10

Gavin, thanks for the report. The folks at Frontier Precision put on a good webinar on the V10 yesterday. There are also some videos on their site that outline the workflows.

John, we need to get someone at the McMinnis training in January to demo this for us!

Gavin -

I'm curious, did you see it in conjunction with an R10? Was it Trimble themselves who showed it to you or a dealer? Was it working with a Trimble Tablet (exclusively)? Does it use WiFi to communicate the photos to the data collector? Does that happen in the background?

Anxious to see one firsthand.

My understanding is that the firmware for the R10 that actually compensates the tilt is also not ready for release. Cable comment is disappointing, thought they'd use WiFi. RTX - PP seems to work great in TBC 3.10, compares very favorably with OPUS. Unfortunately, someone at Trimble made the decision to require a license for almost all of the functionality that was free in every version of TBC prior to 3.10. This is especially damaging to a company like mine that owns 5 licenses but has also used the unlicensed features extensively. If you write about them you could do us all a favor and question why they did this.

Sorry for the tardy reply but just got back last night.
I asked Michael to include a section on the photogrammetric capabilities in TBC but haven't heard back from him yet. Feel free to email him that you would like it included too.

There are still a few seats left in both the Jan 6-7 and Jan 8-9 classes to be taught in Salem if anybody is interested. Leave me a note either here or through my email in the directory.
