Sorry, didn't see your question until now. I honestly don't know what the range is. I've only used it one time a few years ago. Maybe someone else on here is familiar with the range of the Satel radios. I think I remember hearing that a lot of people have changed out the radios and gotten much better performance.

The cheapest functioning one on ebay is going for $5,000 with no accessories. There is a parts unit (not functioning) for $2,000. That said, I would like to get this thing out of my equipment room. How about $4,000?

FWIW, I used one of these daily for years and never had a radio issue with the satels.
