This found out why it was a good ideal to have a backup instrument in storage. After 9 years of hard work the 802A is in for repairs to the horizontal control knob.

I am looking for backup radio's for Topcon 800's series robot, and if the repairs do not go well a Topcon 800's series, both in good working condition. I rather purchase them from a fellow surveyor, so they can use the money to purchase the equipment of their desire.

Buy a set of Parani SD1000 bluetooth radios.

Geotronics sells a set with cables here:

GeoTronics Bluetooth radios

I have a similar setup, and they works great, and are much, much lighter than the old Satel Radios.

I have a pair of Satels that I would be willing to sell, but you would probably have to get the batteries re-celled. I haven't used them in a while. I agree with Jimmy that the Paranis or other blue tooth radios would be a better choice, like the Hayes Bantams. They are much lighter, and you don't need the Federal Radio License.
