Hi,
As requested, here are photos of the plummet, I dont use the original case for day to day transport, i have a padded case. The instrument has been calibrated and stored since january.
I have 2, one I used in China, that one is not for sale until I retire.
I am asking $1700 plus postage, this is a working instrument, not a collectors item, the price matches 2 other sale prices, the unit measured the same results as the top model Leica we had on site as well, and it was about 10 grand.
cheers

David: sorry, I am not in the market, I just have a question. I have the exact same instrument, but I have had trouble getting it calibrated and adjusted. I sent it out to a "specialist" in the US, as the local instrument shop/dealer did not know how to do it (they are not a Leica shop), but it came back not really adjusted well. of course, one can eliminate that error by rotating 180, but I would like to know if there is a trick to adjusting it?
For a while we were using it on deformation surveys to center the tribrachs over the points. But, at tripod height the punch mark on the bolts looks like a moon crater! So now i use a less accurate plummet with less magnification, and also my S6 rotates so I use that as well.
Hi,
Its funny you should say that, I asked the Lleica dealer here to calibrate it, he said they cant because they dont have a standard to work to, I said as long as it shoots plumb, what standard do you need, he said they could not ceritfy my T1A also.
They are nice people, I bought my new Leica stuff for China from them.
So I took it to the Sokkia dealer, who has been around as a tech for 40 years, he collects old Leica gear, he did both of mine no problem, said it took ages, cost 500 bucks for both of them.Small change for what I do and the consequences at stake.
I dont use mine for setting instruments, purely for construction plumbing, because it shoots up and down without inverting.
I did try once to adjust one 20 years ago, never could do it, and sent it to the shop, there is a simple art form to it, thats all I know, and the Sokkia guys gave me a cert. to say its ok.
You can tell by using it if it works anyway, so I cant help you, but a good survey shop can.
I also had the 80 kg plumb bob with game fishing wire, set a point with that, and checked my instrument, all was well.
Cheers
David
Try Bayshore Surveying Instrument Co. in Deer Park, Texas.
It is owned by Milton Hanks, TX RPLS. He personally specialized in optical alignment work for years and has some people who have been working on instruments since before EDM's were common.
If his people can't do it, they probably know who can.

Milton won't likely be there, as his health isn't that good, but his mind still works quite well.
Just selling the photos only, or would you be willing to sell the actual plummet also? 😉
