Does anyone have a Carlson data collector that they'd be willing to part with for a few days? Preferably a Carlson Explorer 600? I got one, but it might not be working right, and I'd like to try another one with my instruments to see how it fares....

If you are having trouble with the bluetooth it is a known problem. I have heard of several problems with the Atniv Bluetooth in the 600+ (Including mine). If the problem is with the bluetooth try using the cable connection and see if things work better.
