Isn't this a Rule 4 violation?

That's exactly what it is. When you start it up, the screen displays, "B ALL U CAN B".

Trying to survey in Oregon with that color Instrument?

OK. Yep, now I see the military sticker on the Geodat. Helluva deal for someone starting out on their own.

Trying to survey in Oregon with that color Instrument?

SDR XX

Shoot...My first SDR was an SDR 2 in 1986....
Eventually had a 22, 24, a couple of 33's....
I could run them with my eyes closed....but have not used one now since 1998.

A surveyor asked me how to cold boot one a couple of years ago... I had no idea any longer.

We used the heck out of them. Even used the built in phone modem on the SDR2....fill it up with topo info in the morning....dial in to the office from a pay phone at lunch....download the mornings work....empty out the SDR and fill it up again that afternoon...

Those were the days.... Some kind of days anyway.

Hey, I still use an SDR-33 and I only "upgraded" to it when my Zeiss Rec500 finally gave up the ghost about ten years ago. Considering how much I prefer to buy used equipment, I wonder what the next DC to think about replacing the SDR should be, hopefully one that has the option of outputting in SDR format.

For Kent....

Well...I could keep my eyes open for an SDR 33...we occasionally get one in on trade.

Most of the Trimble data collectors will output an SDR format file. We get lots of used TSCe's in trade.....

They would be newer than your beloved SDR.

Good to see you again.

For Kent....

Just only a couple of years ago, a supplier that we use still had new keypads and the coiled cable in stock. They may still have some.

Well, I'll have to look at the TSCe's then, eh? The nice thing about the SDR-33's is that they support a surprising variety of total stations, albeit those that were made about ten years or more ago. Wait a sec. Is the TSCe the one with the funky operating system that caused no end of problems? :>

The output in SDR format is pretty convenient because that way I can run it through the same SDR-to-Star*Net converter. That would be simple and painless. Likewise, the SDR format is recognized by other software, including MicroSurvey.

SDR-33 cable

I did have enough sense to buy an extra SDR cable that I've got waiting to replace the cable on the field unit. This isn't my first rodeo! :>

Just reduced the Buy It Now price to $4,200! Also added freight shipping as an option instead of only local pickup.
