Hey guys,
We have two FOG Machines (old HP 9000's running BASIC). These have Figure Oriented Geometry on them (old school CAD program). We have converted all of our files over to Autocad/Carlson format. I won't have any use for these machines soon. I wanted to put out an add to see if anyone is looking for this older equipment. Please email me and I can give you further details on these!

Check with your local schools. You can donate them to the schools and write that donation off of you taxes. You'll probably get as much of a return on them that way as you would get selling them direct to someone.
I wasn't planning on selling them. Just seeing if anyone needs the equipment to do what we have done, finally convert all that old crap! haha!
Ah, F.O.G. I'm supposedly why it existed -- my old boss invented it just after I left his employ, saying he was tired of training and losing draftsmen! I never used it but the drawings I saw that came from it looked kind of clunky. I hope I was better than that!
YOU were the reason! I remember running into this system while working in MA during the mid-1980's.
Yeah, I think it was kind of a New England thing. Its creator advertised it in POB etc. but I think it was promoted by a Maine-based survey equipment dealer back then.
It worked well, my father was using up until ~2003-2004 when he switched over to Civil entirely.
Tim,
I've never seen any of the input/output of a true FOG machine. Is it true that the field files from DCA, then LDD, now C3D are loosely based on FOG?
Can you post some pictures and or field files?
I am truly intrigued! Craig from Gilford NH.
