I've never used one of those. But, I have worn out the leather case on a number of suunto compasses. And, had a number of suuntos turn green... (Algae, or aging plastic), and replaced the card, and fluid chamber.
Anyway, once you learn one brand, it's likely you won't change.?ÿ
How old is this one you are selling?
Nate
I bought it from a company that i used to work for and have no idea how old it is.
I've carried and used the same Brunton "Pocket Transit" (like pictured above) for over 40 years now, except no substitute...

Total stations and GPS are tools locating original corners; a Brunton and a drag tape are tools for finding them in the first place. (Dear god I'm starting sound like an old timer".?ÿ

mine is the same vintage.
I have the OEM ball mount for a staff too
it may be available at my estate sale, but defiantly not before then
@nate-the-surveyor I have a suunto also. good, but a different animal
I gave away my milspec version years ago. I happened to be in Riverton years ago and got an estimate for some repairs. Too much.
FWIW, the compasses are still made.

I've had my Brunton International for 36 years.?ÿ Bought it as a sophomore geology student.?ÿ Like Mr. Fleming, I use my Brunton and cloth tape to find stones and then tie them out with GPS.?ÿ
For stones that are leaning over, I measure the "strike and dip" of the stone and later in the office virtually rotate it to a vertical position.?ÿ That way I have a good idea of what the corner position is without starting the clock on filing a monument record (until I am ready).?ÿ I also use the mirror to direct sunlight onto the chiseled face from different directions, which sometimes makes it easier to read the old marks.
Buyer backed out of sale.
