Hi, Everyone. I know the F.S. exam is administered 4 times a year but I am wondering what month is it typically administered in? I ask this because I just graduated from a 4-year college in Illinois this December and I am waiting on hearing back from the board in order to proceed to sign up for it. The board could take several weeks to a few months to review my application.

The FS and PS are both computer exams. Therefore you can take them anytime of year. Once you are accepted you go online to NCEES website and schedule the exam at your local test center.

Essentially anyone with a survey education, even if not yet graduated is entitled to sit for the exam. Are you an Illinois resident? It is possible to register if you pay attention to the details (Board Shopping or Board Avoiding). Having already applied through the IL Board you may be stuck with waiting on them.

"The http://www.idfpr.com/profs/LandSurv.asp&apos ;">Illinois board requires examinees to submit an application and/or pay an application fee to the board prior to registering with NCEES and scheduling an exam. Examinees should http://www.continentaltesting.net/ProfDetail.aspx?Entity=2&ProfID=15&apos ;">contact the board directly for details." ?

Check with NCEES, the mere fact your application is in may be sufficient to now apply.

"Examinees will be provided one attempt per testing window and no more than three attempts in a 12-month approval period, beginning with the examinee‰Ûªs first attempt.".
