MIL just retired...elementary school teacher...3rd grade over 30 years. SisIL is still teaching 5th grade...over 10 years.
They don't get paid enough. 😉

Outstanding. Gotta love good news from the families of surveyors. So much the better when the news comes from a place where I went to school.

Yep, I graduated from Monroe High School many many years ago.

Larry, so did I. I attended my last year of HS there, after coming back from SA that year.

Good job!
Big congrats to your son.
What a nice stepping stone it is into his future.
So what is his area of expertise at this point in time?

I like the amalgamation of T-Shirts in the picture.
Was it $1 to wear your T-shirt day?
They do that in the public schools here to raise relief money for different relief aid projects like the tornadoes, Japan, Haiti etc.

Keep it up...

Hello Robert, good to hear from you.
Neil seems to specialize in pestering his sister, and hanging out on the trampoline. He also is in a killer jazz band at school (he plays trombone) and piano. He does well in math. I noticed him studying genetics online, and asked him if he had a school project, he said "no,I just want to learn about genetics". He loves NOVA and we watch them all, and have some good discussion about scientific observation and interpretation, which I hope fosters a hunger to delve deeper into the subject at hand.
The T-shirt, is typical middle school dress, although they are taking polls and voting to see if there is any support for imposing a uniform code.

Did you catch the European championship soccer match between the Spanish team and English team?

I was out of state for the past few weeks and didn't see the Barca-MU game. I did see the highlights later. I am a Barca fan. My niece and new husband are spending 3 months in the UK and Germany. They went to Manchester to watch the game. He is a big Manchester fan.
100° in the shade today and I am going to watch the US-Spain friendly at 3:30.
Quite a challenge for our guys. Kids are in the pool.
You need to get Neil a subscription to Scientific American if he does not have one already. I read last month's issue and it was very good.
We have a dress code for public schools here. Like I mentioned, the schools will have a wear your favorite T-shirt day for a $1 and the money is contributed to a relief cause.
They average about $35k/day when they have the event.
