I've had this book for years and just noticed this in the index of "Writing Legal Descriptions" by Wattles.

I give people a hard time whenever they type "parole" when they mean "parol"....

No big deal...I'm sure the editor fixed it without knowing the difference...just thought I would share...;-)

(Topic police...not sure what category this should be)

I was told a few years ago that they had included some obvious mistakes in the text as a way to catching those who would violate their copyright.

If I were writing something like this and kept every misspelling and other typo, that would be a pretty good indicator of having just copied.

yeah...yeah....that's it. They did it on purpose: Wanted to see if you were on their toes.....;-)

(just kidding Larry, I picture something like this possibly being an editor that "fixed" it before it went to print. This one isn't a real "obvious" error, especially since "parole" is a real word and not some typo misspelling.) It looks like they were worried about something, though: Their originals (both Writing Legal Descriptions" and the other Wattle's "Land Descriptions") are in colored type; which I always found interesting.

supposedly Wattles was printed in purple ink because the early copiers couldn't copy purple.
