This is on the NGS web site for Thursday (tomorrow as I write this).?ÿ I have my doubts it will happen since education isn't a critical short-term need during a government shutdown, but then I didn't think OPUS met that criterion either and it appears to be working.?ÿ Anybody expect the webinar to go on?

NGS will establish the State Plane Coordinate System of 2022 (SPCS2022) as part of modernizing the National Spatial Reference System. NGS invited written comments on the draft SPCS2022 policy and procedures. In this webinar, we will share the feedback it received on SPCS2022 and the final SPCS2022 Policy and Procedures.

I've been getting emails about it, but they're probably automated. I can't attend because of a conflict.?ÿ

By the way, it's now Dr. Michael Dennis!

I am certain that it will be postponed despite the NGS sending out a reminder yesterday to everyone who had registered. Obviously these are auto-generated emails. NGS employees are not allowed to work in any capacity, including responding to emails. Fortunately a few of them are also personal friends, so I am able to stay in touch.

Melita is correct, he is now officially Dr. Michael Dennis.

I'm sure that Dr. Dennis has an alternate characterization.

Sorry, I was referring to the whole situation, not the Dr. (I was half expecting to get a last minute notice or something of a postponement)?ÿ

I just find it slightly amusing the gov't can take the time to take down automated and useful websites, yet not attend to the automated scheduling of a live event during the shutdown - you know something that actually wasn't going to happen, as opposed to something that could be happening by itself. (an yes I read the thread about the expenditure of resources and such.)

Again, it is not directed at any employee - we all love the NGS.?ÿ Just venting the the disfunction and cocamany rules that come with government in general I guess.

?ÿ
