Bill Beardslee, Dave Doyle, Bill Henning, David Ingram (am I allowed to mention him here?? 😉 ), Dennis Mouland and Walt Robillard are among the presenters, where three full days of continuing education courses will be presented.
Attendees can obtain all 24 credits necessary for their license term, and many courses are good for credit in NY and/or PA as well.
If anyone is wavering, the hotel rates are $95 and $110 a night, and the conference provides breakfast and lunch for attendees in the exhibit hall.

I'l be the guy with a beard and a name tag that says Conference Chairman. And thanks Cowboy for the plug worked hard on it most of credit goes to our ED and staff. One of the poular ones is Charlie Tucker from AREMA talking about choo-choo's.

Well, some folks have tried to get credit without actually attending, but that's another story.
In reality, many of the courses are offered again next year, some in alternate years, so as the Brooklyn Dodgers used to say, "wait until next year".
For us here in the NY Metro area, the NY, NJ and PA conferneces usually happen all around the end of January-beginning of February, so one can catch up with some of the instructors who are "on the circuit".
Also, there is an alternate group Garden State Land Surveyors Alliance, ironically formed to oppose the original passage of the mandatory CEU law. They offer 2 CEU credit courses monthly at their meetings.

Got to say, the staff at NJSPS and also the staff at Bally's do great job putting on the annual NJ conference.
One advantage they have over some other states is that it's always in the same place every year. This eliminates a lot of the confusion and prep time needed when the venue is different every year.
NJ being a small state, no one needs to travel more than three hours by car to get there, and there are quite a few attendees from NY and PA.
Also, with 11 hotel casinos (to be 12 in May), there's a bit more to do than just hang around the hotel afterwards.
And last but not least, it's SOUTH of the Mason Dixon line.

NJSPLS Announces a New Scholarship Honoring Military Service
To honor those who currently serve or have completed service in any branch of the military, NJSPLS is raising scholarship funds to assist our service men and women pursuing studies in surveying or geomatics. Recognizing that some have already made the ultimate sacrifice, this new scholarship will be open to the children of fallen or disabled veterans as well.
Like all Americans, surveyors are keenly aware of current service in the military by our friends, family members, and colleagues. Current world events keep overseas service fresh in our minds. But we should not forget those who have served in the past, who also deserve our gratitude. Too often we have not thanked the men and women for their past or current military service. One such veteran was Michael J. Galante, PLS, a Navy SEAL and reserved when talking about his service to our country. His death in September 2010 was a sharp reminder how much the rest of us take for granted about the protection our military provides to our way of life in the United States. He was a strong supporter of NJSPLS, serving both at the chapter and state levels for many years, and serving on the original NJSPLS Scholarship Selection Committee both in selecting award recipients and as its treasurer for many more.
Fundraising for the NJSPLS Michael J. Galante Military Service Scholarship will begin at SurvCon 2012 through the sale of two brand new publications:
• Robert F. Kunes, PLS, a past president of the Central Jersey chapter and long-time historian, has completed his book on Monmouth County surveyors entitled, “Surveyors and Mappers of Monmouth County, New Jersey, 1851 to 1900”, and has offered to donate proceeds to this new scholarship. Please look for this book at SurvCon.
• Additionally, Wendy Lathrop, PLS, a past president of NJSPLS and NSPS, is donating five copies of her recently published book, “Professional Surveyors and Real Property Descriptions: Composition, Construction, and Comprehension” to be sold at a special rate of $85 (regularly $110 through Wiley) with the full amount to be donated directly to this scholarship.
Other donations will of course gladly be accepted, both during and after the conference.
I probably won't be there, but I'd like to take this time to Congratulate Mr. James Sens.
Apparently James is being honored as 2011 Surveyor of the year, a very well deserved award IMO. James is a stand up guy, who gives back quite a bit to the Profession.
